Summer Health Centres: Applications Open for Doctors and Nurses for the 2026 Season
The Ministry of Health has opened a call for over 100 doctors and around 150 nurses to staff summer health centres.

PRISHTINA — The Ministry of Health has opened a call for applications from doctors and nurses to work at health centres in tourist areas during the 2026 summer season, according to a notice published and widely reported in the media on April 20.
According to the notice cited by Sot News and other portals, applications will be accepted until April 27, on every working day from 08:00 to 16:30. About 100 doctors and 150 nurses are expected to join the teams providing primary services at beaches, tourist urban hubs and points with elevated traffic during the summer.
Required Documents and Procedure
Applicants must submit the application form, a CV, a copy of an identity document, a valid diploma and professional licence, and a work booklet. Commissions set up by the ministry will assess the files and assign job posts based on the needs of the relevant areas.
According to Sot News, the ministry stressed that additional staff during the summer months is essential to guarantee quality primary care and to ease the load on existing centres, which rises sharply with the arrival of tourists.
Although the latest notice refers to Albania, the scheme serves as a regional reference for Kosovo, where the Ministry of Health and municipalities with destinations such as Brezovica and Prevalla have likewise expanded service capacity in certain seasons. Tourism operators in Kosovo have for years called for greater access to primary healthcare in mountain areas.
Public health experts note that early staff planning and specific training for typical seasonal emergencies, such as dehydration, food poisoning and sports injuries, significantly improve the response to cases handled at these centres.
Interested applicants can contact the ministry or regional directorates for further details about vacancies and working conditions. The summer health services season has become an established regional practice, involving coordination between central and local institutions and the private sector.
