Redmi reportedly developing three phones with 10,000 mAh batteries
The upcoming models target record battery life in the mid and budget segments.

Beijing, April 26, 2026 — Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is reportedly developing three new smartphones equipped with massive 10,000 mAh batteries. The story was first surfaced in Albanian by the technology desk of Telegrafi, citing sources in the Chinese supply chain.
If confirmed, the devices would roughly double the typical capacity of today’s smartphones, targeting users who want multi-day autonomy without recharging. Full specifications have not been disclosed by Redmi itself.
A return to big batteries
The industry is seeing a swing back towards bigger batteries after years of obsession with thinness and fast charging. According to Telegrafi, the direction was opened by “explorer” silicon-carbon batteries that increase energy density without adding bulk.
“Batteries above 8,000 mAh are already a reality in some models and are expected to become a benchmark for the entire mid-range in 2026,” Telegrafi wrote in its April 26 piece.
For the Albanian-speaking market, where Redmi is one of the best-selling brands in the under-300-euro segment, any battery improvement without a price hike usually translates into immediate sales. Retailers in Prishtina and Tirana note that battery stamina remains the top user criterion, ahead of camera quality or design.
On the other hand, analysts warn that phones with such large batteries could raise regulatory questions for air travel, especially after recent lithium incidents on international flights. Redmi has not formally commented on a launch date.
