PDK considers its contribution to the presidential vote concluded
The opposition party says it has done all it can for a consensus candidate and passes the ball to LVV.

PRISTINA — The Democratic Party of Kosovo has declared that it considers its contribution to the election of the new president to be concluded, the portal Sinjali reports.
According to Sinjali, the PDK leadership held a meeting at which it discussed political developments and the country economic situation, including the judicial process in The Hague against former KLA leaders. The final message is that PDK has used all available avenues.
The withdrawal of PDK from an active negotiating role narrows even further the circle of possible solutions before the April 28 constitutional deadline, while LVV finds itself bearing the sole responsibility of putting forward a successful candidate.
Reactions across the political spectrum
Sinjali writes that within PDK there was debate between those who wanted to continue talks and those who proposed full withdrawal. Levizja Vetevendosje has reacted by accusing the opposition of preferring elections over an institutional solution.
From LDK, according to reports by Nacionale, a more cautious stance has been chosen: without publicly leaving the negotiations, the party is awaiting last-minute developments before a formal decision.
According to PDK official position, as reported by Sinjali, the party has “put all options on the table,” and it is LVV that must take responsibility for the consequences of the institutional deadlock.
Within a matter of days, the Kosovo Assembly will return to a marathon of votes that will determine whether the country has a new president or heads back to elections, at a sensitive moment for the economy, the Belgrade dialogue, and the European path.
