Nagavci: LVV drops presidential post, awaits names from PDK and LDK
Vetëvendosje announces it is removing its own candidates and invites the opposition to present three names.

PRISTINA — Lëvizja Vetëvendosje MP Arbërie Nagavci has announced that the ruling party is withdrawing its own candidates for the presidency and awaits new proposals from PDK and LDK, Telegrafi reports.
According to Nagavci, the move is intended to clear the way for a consensus candidate from outside the current political scene. She emphasized that LVV remains on standby for opposition names through the evening and is ready for further talks.
Telegrafi writes that the approach follows a string of offers and counter-offers during the past week, in which names of figures distant from day-to-day politics had been floated. Glauk Konjufca and Fatmire Mulhaxhë Kollçaku had been mentioned as possible LVV candidates, but both names have now been pulled from the race, according to reporting.
Opposition reactions
From PDK, as Nacionale reports, the proposal has been described as a last-minute “political game,” while LDK has taken a more reserved stance, awaiting internal consultations. AAK has put the name of Ramush Haradinaj back into the conversation as a presidential option.
Analysts say LVV’s withdrawal can be read in two ways: as a conciliatory gesture to avoid early elections, or as a maneuver to push the political burden onto the opposition before public opinion.
According to Nagavci, as quoted by Telegrafi, the ruling party has taken “a step aside” in the hope that the opposition will put forward three credible and unifying names for the next president.
Even as the diplomatic game continues, the constitutional clock is ticking and Assembly deputies must return to the chamber in the final days of April to decide the country’s political future.
