NEW YORK, April 21, 2026 — Kosovo-rooted singer Melinda Ademi has announced she is preparing the release of a new music project, sharing a series of posts on her official accounts that suggest a return to the spotlight after a relatively quiet period.

Bota Sot reported that Ademi shared a short teaser featuring vocal segments and a pop-soul-styled arrangement. According to the portal, the artist has not yet given a precise release date, but her communication suggests the song will arrive “very soon”.

A career between the U.S. and the Balkans

Melinda Ademi rose to public attention at age 16 when she competed in the third season of “American Idol” in the United States. In recent years she has released material in English and Albanian, becoming a familiar name at Albanian diaspora festivals. According to Bota Sot, the new project is expected to be in English with production elements close to the American pop scene.

Ademi has said in past interviews that her Albanian identity remains central to her artistic work. The Kosovo portal echoed fan comments calling for a collaboration with a Kosovo artist, although her team has not publicly confirmed any such details.

Social media anticipation

Ademi’s most recent Instagram post drew thousands of reactions within hours, with comments full of emojis and questions about the release date. Bota Sot suggests diaspora events may become a promotional platform for the new song.

“Melinda Ademi is building online attention by teasing her new music project,” Bota Sot reported, citing the artist’s official posts.

The Albanian-language pop scene in the United States has visibly grown in recent years, with artists like Ledri Vula, Era Istrefi and Bebe Rexha maintaining a presence in the American market. Ademi is seen as part of that cohort seeking to combine an Albanian identity with continental pop production.

The singer’s representatives have not yet responded to media questions about an official date. Fans are also watching for a music video that, according to them, may accompany the release.

Industry watchers in the Albanian-language press have long flagged Ademi as one of the few Kosovo-rooted voices to reach a major U.S. talent show, and they argue any well-promoted release could land on regional charts. Streaming platforms in the Western Balkans, according to public industry data referenced by local outlets, have shown a steady rise in homegrown pop consumption over the last two years, an environment that may favor a coordinated rollout. None of these projections have been confirmed by Ademi’s team.
