PRISHTINA — Kosovo’s capital is set to be the regional finance focal point with the Kosovo Finance Forum 2026, held on April 27 and 28, according to Telegrafi. Speakers include Greek economist and former minister Yanis Varoufakis and veteran British journalist Tim Judah, known for his deep coverage of the Balkans.

The forum aims to bring together financial institutions, bank executives, international experts and investors to debate trust in markets, macroeconomic resilience and challenges in financial governance. Organisers have framed the event as a chance to present Kosovo as an attractive investment destination.

Beyond plenary sessions, the agenda is expected to include panels on digital banking, green finance and the diaspora’s role in moving capital towards Kosovo. The presence of names such as Varoufakis is anticipated to draw international media attention.

Signals for investors

Kosovo’s banking sector has shown sustained resilience, while the central bank closely monitors lending and inflation trends. The forum lands at a moment when debates over the budget revision and the inflation package have lifted interest in domestic economic prospects.

Business representatives say events of this kind are key for forging connections with investment funds and international financial institutions. They argue Kosovo urgently needs long-term capital in energy, manufacturing and the digital economy.

According to Telegrafi, organisers stressed that the forum seeks to build a climate where investors and citizens feel safer, while international speakers will bring global perspectives on economic challenges.

The sessions take place in Prishtina with participation from Kosovo institutions, including the Central Bank and the Finance Ministry. After the closing day, organisers plan to release a document of policy recommendations for the financial sector.
