PRISHTINA — Fuel prices on Kosovo’s market have moved up again, with diesel and petrol selling for more than the previous day, Telegrafi reports. The bump comes just days after prices had registered a small decline.

According to published price lists, the change is a matter of a few cents per litre, but for hauliers and family budgets the effect is immediate. Diesel pricing is particularly sensitive for agriculture and logistics.

International oil markets have been volatile in recent weeks, and Kosovo’s domestic prices reflect not only market quotations but also taxes and other operating costs, Kosovar media note.

Impact on consumers

Transport business owners say frequent price moves make medium-term planning difficult. Households, meanwhile, see the fuel hikes piling on top of monthly food and energy bills.

Several consumer associations have called for a review of the tax structure and greater transparency in how the final pump price is formed. They are pushing for tighter monitoring by inspectors.

According to Telegrafi, the latest price lists show diesel and petrol are dearer than yesterday, while consumer groups want clearer answers on which factor is driving the frequent fluctuations.

Analysts expect prices to continue tracking international quotations, while regional businesses are exploring ways to soften the impact of these swings. Many are investing in energy efficiency and alternative transport solutions.
