Construction starts on Korishë–Kabash road, an investment of over 4 million euros
The government has launched construction of the Korishë–Kabash road, a project worth over 4 million euros expected to ease mobility and boost local development.

PRISHTINA — Kosovo’s government has launched construction of the Korishë–Kabash road, a project valued at more than 4 million euros, Telegrafi reports. Prime Minister Albin Kurti, speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, stressed the importance of capital investment for local development and connecting rural areas with urban centres.
The new section is expected to improve mobility for citizens, the transport of agricultural goods and access to public services. Local residents have been calling for the road for years, arguing that existing infrastructure is heavily worn out.
Such projects are part of a wider package of capital investments which, the government says, focus on balanced development across municipalities. The 2026 capital investment budget is up on the previous year.
Local economic effects
Experts note that road infrastructure directly affects the development of small businesses, rural tourism and agriculture. Easier movement reduces transport costs and improves the competitiveness of local products.
Local representatives welcomed the start of works but called for deadlines and quality to be respected. Municipalities have promised ongoing oversight, while citizens have demanded transparency on contracts.
According to Telegrafi, Prime Minister Kurti said the Korishë–Kabash road, an investment of over 4 million euros, will directly serve citizens and demonstrates the government’s commitment to road infrastructure.
The road is expected to be delivered within the contractual deadlines, closing a long-standing demand from residents. The works will be supervised by local engineers and inspectors from the relevant ministry, according to the official statement.
