PRISHTINA, April 22, 2026 — As warm days return, residents of Prishtina and other Kosovo cities are heading back to their yards, terraces and balconies. According to Telegrafi, this year’s trends lean toward a practical and comfortable style that turns the outdoor area into a natural extension of the living room.

Designers recommend quick-drying foam cushions and water-resistant fabrics that withstand both unexpected rain and direct sunlight. Removable, machine-washable covers have become almost a necessity for families with children.

Practical materials, calm colors

The color palette for the spring–summer 2026 season is noticeably calmer than in previous years. Sand tones, beige, natural gray and pale blue dominate over bolder shades. According to designers, these hues age better and pair with almost any furniture style.

As Telegrafi notes, “a well-designed outdoor corner treats the exterior space as a natural extension of the home,” placing comfort and durability ahead of fleeting trends.

Furniture with simple lines and easy mobility is favored over heavy sets. Such pieces work equally well on the narrow balconies of Lakrishte apartment blocks and in the courtyards of traditional homes in Peja.

Beyond seating, lighting plays a key role. Solar lanterns, garden torches and low-intensity LED strings create a warm atmosphere for evenings with family or friends. Plants in large pots, especially lavender and rosemary, complete the look and contribute natural fragrances.

According to the report, the goal is to design a space that works from morning coffee to nights under the stars without having to replace furniture season after season.
