Peja level the semifinal series with a fantastic display against Trepca

PEJA — KB Peja produced a convincing victory over Trepca to level the Superliga basketball semifinal series, tipping the play-off drama back open. According to Telegrafi, the home team’s display was described as fantastic, fuelled by an energy that filled the arena and left no room for the visitors from Mitrovica.

From the opening quarter, Peja imposed their own pace with aggressive defence and quick transition play. Their perimeter players combined well with the post men, finding easy looks from outside and beneath the rim.

Trepca tried to respond in the third quarter, but each time they crept closer the hosts produced an immediate answer. Tactical discipline and the players’ confidence proved decisive when the temperature rose.

The series resets

With this victory, the semifinal series is essentially reset, and the next clash is expected to be decided by physical and mental freshness. Both coaching staffs will have only a few days to fine-tune the details that surfaced on the floor.

The yellow-and-black supporters packed the arena and accompanied the team throughout the night, creating an atmosphere that, according to the players, was decisive. The backing in the stands turned the contest into a genuine celebration of Kosovan basketball.

Peja’s head coach said the team played with heart and that this is the basketball the fans want to see, adding that plenty of hard work still lies ahead if they hope to lift the trophy at the end of the season.

Trepca must now regroup quickly, as the series is entering its most sensitive phase and any mistake could be punished severely in the fight for a place in the final.
